Rep. Sean Casten, Illinois 6th Congressional District
Deliberative Town Hall on Our Online Future with Rep. Sean Casten
Thurs. Oct. 7 | 6 pm CT
Rep. Sean Casten of Illinois’ 6th district will be participating in a non-partisan online Deliberative Town Hall about our online future— everything from 5G to data privacy— on Thurs., Oct. 7 at 6 pm CT being organized by the Connecting to Congress project. All constituents of Representative Casten are invited to attend this event— all you need to do is register at the link above.
The town hall will be online using the CitizenLab platform. When you register, you also have the chance to take part in a survey about our online future, the results from which will be reported to Rep. Casten’s office. After you register, you will receive an email with a link to join the online town hall. A laptop or computer is recommended for accessing the town hall.
The Connecting to Congress team has also created a detailed issue guide potential policies about our online future, ranging from 5G to regulation of tech companies to disinformation online. We encourage you to read the guide before attending the event.
The town hall on Oct. 7 will be moderated by the Connecting to Congress team. This is an opportunity for you to ask Representative Casten questions and let him know about any concerns or ideas you have on this issue. Our goal for these Deliberative Town Halls is to help elected officials hear from not just the loudest and most powerful voices in the conversation, but a representative cross-section of their constituents, so they can better represent their district. We hope you will participate!
